It`s been a while since I have graced these pages, but as they say, reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
Anyhoo
, on the path of something completely different, and as the UKTC (United Kingdom Tank Club) does encompass military vehicles in general, I have decided on a totally retro project - a re-release of a Tamiya 1/12 scale R/C military vehicle - the XR311 Combat Support Vehicle, which lost out to the now well known HUMMER 
Really is a cracking piece of kit, with an essentially all metal chassis and fully adjustable torsion bar suspension system
R/C wise will be run of an ACOMS 2 channel control unit, one of my all time favs
To further break with convention
mine will be done as a desert trials vehicle, so yellow instead of green, and in keeping with the combat support role will be a fuel carrier - hence the aftermarket fuel cans, tie down hooks and scale bungee cords 
Have also decided to give this beast a bit of an automotive upgrade in the form of the Tamiya RS540 Sport Tuned Motor, which I have also retro-fitted to my Tamiya 1/10 scale Wild Willy 2 RTR Jeep.
Should look the DB`s
when completed, to say nothing of the fun factor with regards to driving.
