Here ya go Tony watch this...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFd7ZSyT5BA I have the first one they show myself, cost me all of $30 and it'll charge my 5100mah batteries in about 20-30 min from dead. You may also want to get him a better battery as the ones that comes with the tanks are only like 1500mah batteries and go dead after only 15-20 min of run time. The higher the mah rating on the battery the longer the run time, my 5100's I'll get about an hour to 90 min before they need a recharge.

Many thanks jackalope , the battery that came with the tank was a 2000amp which I guess will be ok I have tried my other 1500amp but they dont seem to be powerfull engough, I also dont have much smoke apart from when you tip it on its side and then it seems to leak .I now have real oil stains on the engine deck any ideas.
cheers Tony

The wall charger may take up to like 8 hours to fully charge that battery which may account to why you don't have much power. Get the charger I showed you its perfect for the price!

It sounds like you ma have the smoke unit over filled. Once you dump it out try running it for a while without adding any and see if it starts to smoke any better, I think you flooded it.

The smoke the factory units are not that good but there's not that many options out there, I'm in the process of waiting for parts to build a smoker and if you can wait a while the super smoker is being re-done or so I've been told. If you'd like more smoke search MEGA STEAM its very good smoke fluid that should do better then the stock fluid for you.

As to the stains I'm not sure what you can do really. I bought a King Tiger that had the turret, engine deck, and right side of the tank stained in places and I couldn't get it to wash off so I repainted the tank! :haha:

Greetings Tony... just my two cents... your smoker...reason it's leaking and you don't have much smoke is probably because you have too much fluid in it...drain as much of it out as you can...as an as extreme measure carefully open it up and get a few paper towels and dab it till you get the wick relatively dry...it should be damp but not saturated
As far as the drip charger goes...they work fine... I still use them for the initial charge on the low end batteries...then use a speed charger or smart charger like what Jack showed you....the drip charger usually six hours for the initial charge ...two hours when the battery gets weak

Good luck...hope your son enjoys the Hobby

Many thanks for the replies guys
ill charge the battery again and see what happens , I'll also drain the smoker and hopefully that'll stort it. I guess that I undo the screws on the underneath of the tank and carefully prise the top off? Is there anything is should be careful of when we do that? Ill try some surgical sprit on the oil stains and see If that lessens it. I dont want to repaint it yet as he only had it this morning, still if thats what it takes then ill have to.

You really don't have to remove the smoker Tony...just open up the tank...the area where the two hoses for the smoke come out ...there should be four screws that hold that down...take that off... shove a good wad of paper towel or something absorbent into the well to get the fluid out ...then carefully pinch the wick till it's damp not wet ...then just set it back in and just run the heck out of the smoker... if the element didn't break...you should get a decent volume of smoke ...if the smoke still trickles out...just keep running it...and don't add any more fluid...it should progressively get better

Hi guys many thanks for the advice im pleased to say all is running well battery now strong and smoker now drained and working not much smoke but it is smoking, now just got to clean the oil off and attach the extra bits. I think theres a few bits that should be modified ie turret 360 and bow machine gun light and main gun barrel length they can wait untill my son has got the hang of driving it :). But other than that its pretty good. Might have to see if I can get a T34 for it to go up against;) By the way does any one know of any 1/16 star stencils?
Anyway many thanks Tony and Jacob

Good to hear your sons tank ;) is up and running.

As for the star stencil just take some good quality masking tape such as blue 3M tape, stick some to a mirror or ceramic tile draw your star and then use an x-acto knife or other sharp knife to cut out the star and TA DA! you just made yourself a stencil!!!
