Took him outside to the Alfresco paint booth.
Ran the red primer over all the new additions while steering the turret with my foot(controler on the ground) so that no paint would settle in patches.
Turned out pretty good.
One thing though...............forgot to pre-prime the armour plates on the engine deck :problem:
If I look a certain way I can see the bare brass in the tiny gap between the grilles and the plates. :{

Been 'looking' again..................

http://www.worldwarphotos.info/

I have seen this place before, but never got to the 'home' page & started from zero.
King Tigers alone have 158pics.
Tiger 1's have 3 volumes.
A wonderful insight.

Looking good on the paint, you'll cover the tiny gaps no prob. That's just the nature of spray.

Thanks for the pic links too!

Herman,
The Tiger II is looking great in primer. Your attention to detail is growing exponentially. Following along.

Not much progress. Got the hairspray on the lower hull and roadwheels.(Mmmmm.........hair.....spray) did the wait to dry thing (about ten seconds in the heat right now) and got the Dunkelgelb on the wheels.
Will use the airbrush for the lower hull sponson area to ensure no overspray.
Upper area will be a mix of tamiya XF43 J.A. Green & olive green.
Then the gelb over that with the 'puss-rings'
Biggest thing for me is to resist the temptation of overdoing weathering & wear+tear.
This machine had not long left the factory before it was in my opinion destroyed by its crew. The barrel is in full battery, which was common sight on surrendering or abandoned AFV's at this stage of the war.(the Jagdtiger in Maryland for example) so I conclude that it was mechanical failure or fuel that slayed the mighty beast.

This picture post war shows the barrel in full battery...............assume the recouperators were drained & a round fired.
