Whilst waiting for bits for me Pershing to turn up thought I'd raid the stash from last Xmas. Wifey bought me the Takon Renault FT. Anyone else tried to Rc this.
The plastic used is bloody nasty stuff.

Re: Renault FT
That's actually a pretty cool Model Rocketman.... I've heard many say they want to do it ...but have never seen anyone take the challenge to do it...that hull is so narrow...not even sure a 1/24th scale gearbox can be fit in it
So you can be the First!

Thing the first thing to do is to reinforce the chassis....steal a cookie sheet from the significant other's kitchen cut to shape and bolt in place

Re: Renault FT
I can't remember where but I've seen a thread on a forum where a guy tried to make it RC. Time to spend some quality time with Mr Google search.
Re: Renault FT
OK found a few threads. Sods law I'd picked a Tamiya gearbox ( 1 of 2 available ) set to use and tried it last night but it was wrong layout. They do another which I was considering and its the one the guy on the other forum has used. Its a perfect fit so that's on its way to me in the post. Im now looking at 1/35 rc gear to power it as the motors wont take a 7.2 v output from an rx18. Any idea if you can run an rx18 on 6v?
Re: Renault FT
The Germans removed the Turret and used them as tractors so you could make it free moving and attach it to something small like a MkIII and although the MKII is doing the work it may appear to be pulling or pushing it
Just a thought
