What can I say...I have my faithful followersspongehoobtank82 wrote:Hey alpha, I always appreciate your input although you seem to have been taking abit of a pummeling on here lately, and you are wrong in this case mAh is the capacity, think maybe you've just confused it with the discharge/ burst rating, but again I appreciate your adviceso no one used this high capacity battery then?

This is what I use....easy 2hr run time...lasts for about three days...

PS. I have a hunch

Re: turnigy 12800mah lipo
Again you don't know what your talking about on any count here; the measurement of battery capacity is amp/hours or miliamp hours. This on it's own doesn't determine what current will go through the system. Just how long it will run for.ALPHA wrote:What can I say...I have my faithful followersspongehoobtank82 wrote:Hey alpha, I always appreciate your input although you seem to have been taking abit of a pummeling on here lately, and you are wrong in this case mAh is the capacity, think maybe you've just confused it with the discharge/ burst rating, but again I appreciate your adviceso no one used this high capacity battery then?

...all I said was it's risky and amps don't equate to run time ....so basically it's still up to you

If you will excuse the analogy think of your electrical circuit like a water tank, a pipe and a valve. Your capacity is the size of the water tank, your pipe diameter into the valve is like the battery c rating of your battery, the bigger the pipe (or larger the c rating) the greater the rate of water that can be delivered to the valve.
The valve is like the esc, it regulates the rate of water through (or how much current the motors draw).
If you have huge pipes the. You can deliver large currents , however if your c rating is low the battery can't deliver the required current without damage to it's self.
Now in real life battery capacity and c rating determine the max current a battery can in theory deliver. Also Lethe esc I've described is more like a mechanical speed controller. A modern esc uses timed pulses to vary speed rather than changing resistance.
Anyway my point stands a large capacity battery won't "smoke your motors or electronics" .
Using too high a voltage or motors that draw too much current will cause damage to your electronics however.
Re: turnigy 12800mah lipo
But your right in one thing, amps don't equal run time.
Infact is a combination of current draw and battery capacity. But in the case you seem to be talking about battery capacity when you talk about "amps", which would be wrong.

BUY IT ...talking doesn't prove anything...I certainly wouldn'ttomhugill wrote:But your right in one thing, amps don't equal run time.

You also wouldn't buy a proper smart charger for lipos and seem to have no understanding of batteries so I'll take your opinions with a pinch of salt. However I need a big 2s pack for one of my boats so consider this challenger accepted.....ALPHA wrote:BUY IT ...talking doesn't prove anything...I certainly wouldn'ttomhugill wrote:But your right in one thing, amps don't equal run time.
