I would say that o****f guy is the most dangerous bidder....right now he looks like a pusher or shill ...just because of his feedback rating...7000+ wins sales whatever...IMO someone like that has some experience....and wouldn't be bidding in the way he is ;)

From the pictures the King Tiger with internals shown is the newer type with two gear boxes not the older version. The other King Tiger is probably the newer type as well as it has the decals on it from the newer model. They look in pretty good shape other than some missing cosmetic features. The TXs are 10 pounds a go so not much of an additional cost.

My only concerns would be:
The deck of the Tiger has been lifted, if it's unscrewed then it's no problem but if it's screwed down still it could indicate some serious damage to it. The Tiger also seems to have quite a thick coating of paint which would mean a complete strip down to get it all off.
The Leopard is in good shape but all the cosmetic items needed to fix it would cost a reasonable amount. It would certainly need to be disassembled to check the gearbox over.
The King Tiger with the muddy skirts has the barrel pulled out a little. The recoil system may be damaged or the barrel detached. Either way it's something to fix but not to expensive.

Other than that, at the current price it's a bargain.

The only dangerous bidder on eBay is one bidding against you and willing to spend more than you..

Good point Tom.... thing about that guy .... if it were me...I would either watch..or place one bid just to see where the cap is...this guy in capping "just enough" ..thus just raising the bid....Strategically...it would be wiser to just wait till the last day for the bargain...not continue to battle it out with meager numbers

Learned that a long time ago...when I started my train collecting adventure...found I could win without a bidding war...and get better bargains ;)

With that said....there are probably guys waiting...like I mentioned...to do and execute what you just said...and yes the Highest bidder or best sniper will win :D

Maybe he's using one of those automated ebidder sites. You tell it what item to watch and put in your max limit and the site just keeps outbidding anyone up to your limit.

Personally I leave it until the last few seconds.

Yup...I'm with you there Woz...it's the best way if you really want to win....It gets to the point where you get so good at it..going to EBAY is like shopping ...the only thing I kind of miss...was studying how the bidders bid and what they buy ...now you can't do that :'(

It kind of added a little spice to the win ;) ...though the NEW form of added mystery is also an interesting aspect :D

eBay has always used proxy bidding which is what you describe, no software or 3rd party site needed. Auction snipers that bid with seconds to go are another kettle of fish.

9 out of ten times...that kettle of fish is called winners ;) though there is the chance that o***f placed an 10,000 dollar bid for proxy...to which I would become a pusher just because at times it's more fun than sniping :haha:

You can place a maximum bid on ebay without those sites and it won't show anyone else. So unless you go over that guys maximum that he's added to ebay you can't stump them in the last second. All it will do is tell you you've been out bid. However you've just come up against that other guys maximum and you need to add more and more until you go over it.

Yup...sometimes EBAY is fun... a relaxer of sorts...you just have to go with the flow and not take anything seriously.... because in most cases... something similar appears again down the road :D

What strikes me as funny is... some bidders will go nutso on a bid...when there is a buy it now ...right around the corner that is cheaper :haha: :haha:
