The internals tell you jarndice, dmds, removal turret etc, and the externals give it away if you look really close, I might have a punt on these if it stays below a grand :-)

You can spot things in the pictures. Metal wheels and no zim on the KT's , the engine deck on the Tiger 1, thin barrel on the M26 etc, etc.

P.S. one of the king tigers may be old type due to write up saying 2 off them are simple type.

Tom said he's out...But if you do the math....even if the guy did post the tanks...six either in one huge box...(not sure what that would run)...or six smaller ones...which means about 40 dollars each... bout the same as gas ..........no?

If it were me I'd be in it for the Sherman and maybe the Tiger...either of those command about 3 to 4 hundred on EBAY US...usually broken and guaranteed not to run lol

Pros and Cons to that auction though...if the price comes to where the individual break up is close to the cost of getting each one individually ... I would definitely be out and sit with Tom on the sideline...less than 250 each... I'd snipe that baby :haha: :haha:

We bidding on this.

I think the guy selling them is going to be stunned at the amount he's going to get for them.

The Sherman is definitely a Tamiya...the KT is definitely a Tammy or Torro... HL didn't have that model till this year....plus there weren't any HL or Taigen controllers in the box ;) ...there was a cheap @## buggy in the box though :haha: :haha: :haha:

ALPHA

PS...The guy is probably a member Shaun...He added photos to show they are Tamiyas...seems he took a few of them apart ....another thing to note is that when it did show the commander figure... it was actually not bad...so the guy who built the tanks had some patience and skills ;)

The more I think about it, the less of a good deal it sounds, those tanks have been in that garage for years, would of been different if they had been stored indoors, theres no telling if any of the DMD's still work, way to risky..............

LOL you sound almost like me Jake...not for this auction but others.... I passed on a broken O guage T1 train the other day...it was going cheap because it was broken..it was a good brand... but two of the arms that connect the wheels were broken off... same place ....Even though it was a brass engine...and the parts broken could be repaired pretty easily .... what it did show was that the engine had been run really hard...that's the reason I put a mental limit on it ...it went over that limit so I let it go
So on this one it depends on how the auction goes...it's something to consider no matter what kind of item is being sold...unless it's something totally rare and super hard to find...there are many times you just have to let it go...lots of bids on this one...only a few bidders volleying back and forth...there is probably several who are just watching....if the price doesn't end too high on the final day...you can bet a bunch of those watchers will turn into bidders

If I were bidding on them...I'd say it's almost the peak for me ;) mostly because of the reasons you speak of .. but everyone has their own mental limits

Saw the guy added new pics showing the internals...so it does verify that they are Tamiyas.... but they are old...good chance is they are the old clutch drive system as well...to which there is an upside.... lots of servos and small motors that can be stripped out and used for other projects ...The outer shells have value...some more than others...but there is a demand for Tamiyas

Pretty sure the DMDs would be good...but would probably need some updating...since the controllers all looked of the crystal type...those look to be in pretty sad shape too :haha:

Don't know......as they say one mans trash is another mans treasure...so it will boil down to how much someone wants that treasure
For me it would be a waste...all I would really fix is the Sherman...others like Tom Fynsdad Mcevoyi..could probably use every one of them :D
