I've been looking at the pistol trigger Iwata TRN1, have you got any experience with this type of gun, are they any good....

Just notice something about this gun Jake... I know why Iwata put the Handle on...it's because on normal gravity feed guns..the normal top side trigger is very close to the paint cup...thus interfering with the finger motion normally used when activating the trigger ;)

So yeah...I would say this is a very nice designed gun

How do you like it so far? does your finger hit the cup?...that's what I noticed ...think you will see more gravity feeds equipped with "grips"...gravity feeds have limited paint supply..the only way to facilitate better use is to allow for larger cups... larger cups mean less clearance for your trigger finger...thus the grip ;)

Nice purchase though Jake...

Still waiting on the compressor, so haven't been able to have a go yet...the airbrush seems to be very nice quality, but as its a first I don't have anything to compare it to, sure I'll get the hang of it after practicing on an old Hobby engine....saying that I actually haven't ordered any paint...man I'm slow sometimes :/Wouldn't it be nice if there were a few hobby shops near me then I could pop down and get some rather than wait a week...my dad said when he was younger we had three in our town.....

Yeah it's kind of sad...Toy stores as well as Hobby shops seem to be a thing of the past...I've seen too many fade away...the New gen just isn't into craftsman type things anymore...everything is disposable to them

Its so true! I just shop online to get what I need anymore, the hobby shops just aren't into the cool stuff, seems all they have are some models, rc cars, very few radios and a smidgen of paints and they call themselves a full service hobby center!
Here we have two or three that I would consider true hobby shops...but I feel their time is limited...mostly because they are remotely located.. and exposure to Hobbies aren't as great...Video games and Iphones are the craze now days ...it's really sad to see sometimes
As far as RC tanks go...it's dead here....I have had people ask where they can get them ... but when I tell them you have to get them online..their expressions change... probably because of the lack of "touch"...you can't feel things online..it's all very cold..especially if something is defective ;)

On another note Alpha, was looking at your winter scheme at the beginning, have you tried suspending white weathering powder in alcohol and airbrushing over the original green (T34 right) I did this for winter schemes like yours, I don't like caking on the white so I airbrush the solution by coats, one at a time and let each dry, when I am done, I take a brush and brush off what would be the worn areas, when I have it right I airbrush a clear lacquer over it to seal it all in.. Now what I like about this method, if I cake it on too thick, I can brush it away, if I don't like it at all, again brush it away.. I use this technique for mud, dirt, grim etc..seem just brushing it on dry as it was intended just takes too long to build up the layers...

Cheers!
Thanks for the tip eastern...but I'm not going for historical looks on my Tanks...all of my builds are based on GIRLS UND PANZER.. the anime...that Hollywood tank was created because at the time I entered the Hobby...the WSN was no longer being produced and there was nothing else around...when I stared at the Walker... I remember an old movie that butchered a Walker to look like a T34...Now that I have legit T34s ...it became the candidate for the shading attempt ....Getting back to the Anime... In the anime...the Pravda school's Tanks are basic white...not white over green ..just plain white :haha: ... which is kind of boring sometimes ...reason when I dug out my airbrush set... I tried highlighting some areas(needed practice ;) )...it's a tough pull to do that with brush ..with White...it lends itself to getting muddy... I knew airbrush was the solution when I first did it(with brush)...but I was just too lazy to dig it out lol....The reason I finally dug it out is because of one of my upcoming builds that will definitely need it...shaker cans won't do the job... as the color scheme is too complex.... handling bleeding would be a problem...with the airbrush touch ups are easier...and bleeds are more easily controlled and taken care of ;)
