Model Military International Magazine

Post by welshdragon »

The March issue of MMI will be out soon, it will include reviews of IMPACT products by John ( 'Spud' ) Murphy, the editor.  For any forum members who haven't seen the current ( February ) issue there is a competition to win IMPACT products, with total prizes worth over £300.  This is a great magazine for armour modellers which often includes articles on 1/16 scale builds.  Back issues can be obtained from www.modelmilitary.com

I get three or four mags a month, the Mrs goes ballistic when she sees them.

There's a good Bi-monthly one called AFV modeller, its expensive at £6 a pop but there are some good builds in there, well described and some really good close up photo sessions of real tanks.

This month (issue 44) the models are a POST war stug III  and a russian combat engineering vehicle with some great weathering. The real tanks viewed are the M4A1 and the Matilda mk2 with some great reference photos. They did a special last month of Tamiya builds taking thier pick of favourite kits through the years, one of which was the 1/16th Tiger, pretty good stuff.

Its good to know Im not the only "Toilet reader"  ;D When we have visitors the wife makes a point of moving my mags away from the smallest room in the house... doesnt take long from them to creep back though. She also cant understand why I want to keep them for reference. Only yesterday i discovered an interesting way to get a wood grain effect on stowage crates while i was in the bath... in an old issues form last year.

For some bizaar reason women just dont understand the significance of this  ???
