who killed whitmann

Post by cannedheat »

just seen a very good documentary on the demise of the so called black night ? not the brits but the Canadians ,who were closer to his tank than the brits and there 17 pounders, good program its very believable, if the team investigating got all things correct ? the brits distance was nearly a thousand meters away in relation to Whitman's tank, the Canadians with there 75 shermans were less than half distance behind a chateau wall, hit at the left[ rear], then the tank brewed blew turret off ,they also reckon on a tank buster rocket ,because a dud was found near but if a rocket did do it there would have been massive damage to the tanks rear .....wot wot .......

Not to mention the damage done to Whitmanns Tiger was on the opposite side that the Brits were firing from meaning SOMEHOW the shell would have had to make a U turn from the Brits ranks to hit his where it did. Not very likely when you understand that SHELLS CAN'T MAKE U TURNS! :haha: The Canucks got him! Pretty open and shut plane and simple. I mean that one Brit gunner did knock out 3 Tigers which in itself is a feat he just couldn't have gotten Whitmann too, no way.

Canadian was fighting under the British/Common Wealth banner at that time anyway, and obviously it is much more poetic to have a Brit taking out the ultimate Tiger in a Firefly. It makes for better story.

Seems the Canadian claim to fame has more credible fact based evidence, and since the American Government is not expressing an opinion as they have proven the 180 deg turning radius of bullets can kill presidents. Then I would agree the Canadians did the deed.

Thankfully their are plenty of Hero's in both armies to go around. Hell seems just surviving in a Sherman was a substantial accomplishment.

At least he was killed. Wittman was a fully paid up, card carrying Jack boot wearing Nazi. He wasn't a Knispel or Carius.

True enough I suppose, still hard to understand how many people, who were raised from childhood by a Government indoctrination everyday could be anything else but what the Government intended. Good National Socialist to the core.

Seems many in Europe and the USA,CANADA will soon have the same kinds of choices to make. Lets hope History has taught us something useful and we avoid the decieption of the SOCIALIST lies so our grandchildren will not suffer from our conformity to stupid
