9.6 battery in heng long tank

Hi,just like to say thanks for all the help I've received from the forum members for my tanks & ask another question.Can I run a 9.6v ni-mh battery in my heng long tanks without harming the rx18 or the receiver board.

I've done it with out damage. Although one of my track motors ended up faster than the other.

well I tried the 9.6 volt battery & can't see any problems,super smoker works much better & tank radio range has increased by about 1/3 I reckon,also bb gun seems to cycle faster.
