Issues With my new Sherman from Heng Long

Post by Merlin707 »

Finally received my new Sherman, charged the battery and fitted 8 new AA's into the remote to find that the remote LED doesn't glow up when I turn it on.

The tank turns on fine and the lights flash correctly awaiting the start up button to be pressed on the remote.

Do any of you guys have an idea as to why the remote might be faulty?

Thanks.

Also are the trim tabs supposed to move on the standard Heng Long remotes?

The instructions mention that they do but mine seem to be stuck in the central position.

Hi Merlin

This has happened a few times with my Heng Long Rxs, try rolling the batteries around a bit with the power switch on and see if the red light comes up...oh and no the trim's do not move on the standard H/L rx...

Hi Merlin, sorry you're having issues with your new Sherman. Mine did the same thing. Sadly, it took three remotes before they sent me one that would work. Just not the best of quality. Good luck

hi its most like to be the transmitter if you take out the batt and then replace them make sure they are touching at both ends and roll them as they sometimes don't make contact swicht on the transmitter and roll them see if the light flickers on /off

The trim tabs on the H/L transmitters are there just for looks and do nothing at all, wish they did so my Tiger would run straight like my Taigen KT will because it has real working trim!

I noticed on my H/L Tigers transmitter the contacts for the battery were like they were mashed in and sometimes the batteries wouldn't make contact, I took a small screwdriver in between the contact and the plastic of the transmitters body and pryed them outward just a little and then it was perfect.

I'm no H/L expert by any means and I've been told I got "a bad one" but I'm almost afraid to ever get another H/L tank again! I had to rebuild the damn thing from the ground up to get it to run right and spent double the tanks original cost just so it wouldn't throw its tracks going thru my yard. This and now hearing of your problems is kinda cementing my opinion of them.

rechargeable AA batteries are the worst offender in transmitters i find, they just are not all the same size, i've had fat ones that won't push down but it's normaly the little nub at the positive end thats just a slight bit undersized
