Tamiyas new release the type 10 Japanese mbt,you know they could have made an Abrams or challenger years ago and ignored our requests,to me it seems like an in your face move by the long heralded 1/16 rc tank manufacturer.im saving for something else,that's just how I think,what's your opinion?

I am totally amazed that tamiya have done it in 1/16 ...as i see the 1/35 kit at shows heavly discounted ..no one out side japan seems that interested ?
It seems a really strange move ?....

Don't think it's an in yo face move at all...It's their tank...(Japan)....To be Honest...I rather see them release the Merkava ...if any modern tank is to be done

I had assumed the reason we haven't seen an Abrams or Challenger 1 or 2 in 1/16 from Tamiya is down to copywrite issues. Given that the Challenger 2 running gear is pretty close to the Leopard 2 there must be some reason that they haven't built the rest of the Chally around it? Saying that they've produced both these battle proven tanks in 1/35 for years so perhaps the copywrite theory is rubbish. I always thought the Leopard 2 was an odd choice as it hasn't really seen a proper tank battle in reality or as well known as the modern US or Brit tanks AFAIK?

I'm sure if either of these MBT's were released or a modern APC like the Bradley or Warrior they would sell big time! Then again I'd love to see a Vietnam era M48 & M113 too.
