Morning, Alpha,
Crazy Joe is perched in the commander's hatch of 'Maxene' while the real commander is down checking the tracks. I still have my eye on a Mato Tank Destroyer for Joe. Mato's 75mm Sherman is out so hopefully those others will follow along. I'm glad that you are enjoying the direction this redo has been going in. The tank is really looking and running more realistically than previously. I'm considering the last bit of major detail today, the fender braces. I'm going to use sleeved rods and drill them so that they can mount to glued plasticard with some of those tiny Tamiya screws that I have. The sleeve can be some more of that hollow brass square tubing. They need to be flexible so that if the fender takes a bump they don't break loose. So the rod will need to be able to slide in the sleeve. Some thought and assembly required. ;o)
regards,
Painless

Alpha, Crazy Joe does all right. He will have his own vehicle again soon enough. ;o) Another late night. Whew... One of those things where you know that you should stop for the evening but a step works out sooooo easily that you figure that another 15 minutes will not hurt to complete the lot ... then two hours later: Pictures

A little fuzzy but by the time I took the picture, my eyes were pretty tired. The braces and mounts look very good this morning with fresh eyes.

The fronts turned out really well. I took care to use the reference photos for placement of the mounts.

Looks real and works and can be disassembled with a jewelers screwdriver to replace parts if needed.

Ditto on the front. These will actually work to brace the fenders.

Today was a good day. Got the Tamiya .50 cal sprayed then detail painted and put into place. This was the first time I had not painted the small parts with a brush after assembly and was pleased to save a couple of hours. I had enough time left over to redo the Commander's arm patches with black and silver per 'Fury' and now it can be seen that the fellow is a Sergeant. Pictures:

Alpha,
Good morning. I think that I agree with Sarge. It's time to primer and get busy. ( There is still a tow cable to assemble and stowage to paint but those can be done during the detailing after the O.D. is applied )

Billpe,
Thank you! Since Sassgrunt sent over the first one for the Maxene build, Tamiya's version of the M2 is the one always preferred for American armor builds. There is a nice metal version out there which comes in pieces like this one but for the price and detailing, it's hard to see making a switch.

Got an interesting item to try in the Post yesterday. I love the company's address! Managed to prime and paint the basic Olive Drab on the Pershing as well. I started the detail paint with the hatch pads but ran out of time at 2:00 in the AM. Had to be up early this morning to go bowling with the Mate. *chuckles* Pictures:
