I recently wrote about the tardiness of the German Mail Service, Early August ordered, early October delivered and that is just Germany to the UK and both countries being in the EU,so no customs charges, there was a time when these postal organisations were state owned, but after a lot of protests concerning their ineffiency they have been privatised and now they are much worse! I can order from Matomart and the product comes from Hong Kong in 6 to 8 days and yet 2 months plus from a country I could drive to in under a day, disgraceful. shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

International postage is always a risk, I've had stuff from Hong Kong be on my door in 3 days, my t-55 from Rctank.de took the same. I've also had something from hobbyking take over two months. My tamiya gearboxes from the AAF took a month and I got hit with a customs charge.

Jack I wasn't saying Rctank.de ripped you off just shipping from the states to the UK is stupidly expensive compared to the other way round.

Hey Jack...as alluring that german site is.... and though many here have had good experiences with them.... also I did have a notion once to order from those guys... I had to pass...not because of what is said here...but because another friend said not to risk it ....just because they have a different attitude towards modellers in the US....I think Painless is the only guy I know that has had some success with them....everyone else has said something different ;)

Have you had a letter from DHL asking you to stump up the customs charges before they'll deliver?

Tom, I know I just wanted to make sure I was clear thats all.

Nope, no letter from DHL asking for more money.

Like I said shipping from Germany sucks, LAST time I do it I'll just get my stuff from the UK from Dave, I'll give it a full month and then file a dispute with paypal in which case I know I'll get my money back.

DHL might ask you to pay at the time of delivery but not before the package gets to your house.

Shipping was included so I know its not customs adding up more charges I just don't get it.

But yes Dominique has been great and always replies to my emails which is why I really don't want to open a paypal dispute but if it hits the 30 day mark and no parts I'm gonna have no choice but file with paypal. I've ordered parts for my RC vehicles from all over the world and this is without a doubt the LONGEST its taken to get them.

Just because shipping is included doesn't mean you won't get stung for customs charges..... Have you checked the tracking? DHL packages I get from dom alway have tracking.
DHL is probably 5 times more likely to charge extra fees for duties and taxes verses any postal service. Its the way couriers work. Lots of extra money in them clearence fees.

There are no customs or tax charges when shipping within the EU, there must be a problem with the post etc as it wouldn't be held up with customs, I have had two very large package's delivered within two days from Poland and a package from Russia in two before now.

Finally came today! My postal carrier had forgot it was in his truck when he came to my house earlier today so total time to ship was 21 days. Not rctanks.de's fault that DHL sucks but I hope there is a different shipping option should I need anything from them in the future!

All the parts I ordered were packaged VERY WELL! And the parts that arrived are exactly what I ordered! Its taken MONTHS and 4 different supplies to finally get the correct 4.1 steel gearboxes for my King Tiger! Can't believe the amount of CRAP I had to go thru to get these damn things! I may as well have been trying to get gearboxes for the real KT! :haha: Now I can also add the tracks to the turret of my Tiger and the bearings for both of my tanks will be installed this weekend.

Guess I need to start my build thread for my KT seeing how all the parts needed to make her run are now here!
