My pleasure Al
I used to try to learn something new every day, but found it pushed something useful out the back of the memory bank..

Hi Brian, thanks for the heads up on the lcm3/lcm6, it's still planning days so I may as well switch to the lcm6 so it will be authentic with a tank, I think the difference will only be a slightly longer load bay but I will research it. Better to make the change at this stage than do all the work and regret it later!

Hi Al
6ft longer, at 1/16th it adds 4 & 1/2 " to the tank bay, but there are other differences as well.

Go to the Other Related hobbies section.
RC Boats.
Crispy was building his Lcm3.
I posted a little about my Lcm6 with a few piccy’s, I stopped adding anymore because it was Crispy’s thread and his Lcm3 build. Too much input from me would have been confusing.

The Lcm6 was used in the US Pacific Theatre, landing tanks in small numbers on the island beaches.
Normandy the Tanks were needed on mass they were taken over landed by Lst and Lct. This not to say that improvisation, they may have tried the odd one on smaller craft.

Still loads to do but I feel I need something meaty to get my imagination into in between the fiddly bits hence the LCM3.
Please let me know if the photos work as it's all trial and error.
Cheers Al

Hi Pete, that looks really great and is exactly what I am hoping to achieve. Any tips on ramp building would be really appreciated as it looks terrific! If you have any build pics could you please email to alwynft@aol.com? Many thanks. Al

Alwyn, I see you live in chappel, the MAD club meets the third Sunday of the month in Hyde near Stockport. Quite a few in the club have landing craft and it would be great to meet you in person!
