MEGA Steam.

Post by jackalope »

Ok for those of us in the U.S. I found a great smoke fluid that REALLY smokes up a storm! Mega Steam, its made for model railroads but will work in any smoke unit and won't damage them or at least thats the claims. I ordered a small bottle to give it a try and put it in the stock H/L and Taigen smoke units and MAN they REALLY pumped out some smoke! Well today my replacement Super Smoker II got here and after it's initial use with the smoke fluid it comes with I put in some Mega Steam smoke fluid and took the Tiger out for a spin and WOW did that thing smoke like CRAZY!

Even at idle the smoke coming out is very thick and as soon as I throttle up the smoke POURS out of the mufflers to the point where it damn near hides the tanks rear in a smoke cloud! I got the non scented version which actually smells like burning birthday candles I may try different scents next time but for now this stuff works great!

All in all I'm VERY happy with how the exhaust smoke has turned out for my Tiger.

Now for my King Tiger I may try to build an acoustic smoker, but this smoke fluid is the stuff I'll be using thats for sure.

Quick update copied from my Super Smoker II thread.....

Just did a test of the new replacement Super Smoker II unit indoors with the Mega Steam smoke fluid and HOLY CRAP it makes SO much smoke you can not run it in doors using the Super Smoker II and Mega Steam! I had to open all the windows and put the window fans in, turn the ceiling fans on, opened the front and back doors but it wasn't enough to stop the smoke detectors from going off in both the kitchen and the up stairs! SERIOUS smoke here folks!

Jack,
I don't use the smokers a lot in my builds but when I do I like them to be seen and noted. On yours and the site's testimonials, I ordered a bottle of the 'diesel ' and a fine tip applicator. I think I'll be well pleased just using it in the standard and speed controlled smokers I use. Thanks for the heads up on Mega Steam.
regards,
Painless

Going through the dealer list on the Megasteam site I found http://www.petersspares.com in England, I have not ordered simply because I reckon smokers are over rated and very unreliable. Shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

:haha: :haha: LOL Jack... at least it was a positive thing...where you wanted smoke and you got more than you wished for... much better than having smoke and a fire to go with it ;)

Glad everything is sorted now :D
