I'm sure they will fix the one I returned and that's fine. Don't get me wrong, I know things go wrong and I'm sure it's a minor problem. The tank is very nice, plenty of metal everywhere, the 360 degree turret is great, and it is a very smooth running tank. It's an IR equipped tank. The one thing I don't like, and it's the only thing I could find for the short time I had it, is that there is no hatch or cover for the IR Apple receptacle when you remove it from the tank. When it returns, I will fashion a cover or hatch so as to keep the electronics clean when the apple is not installed. Also, it will make the tank a little more pleasing to the eye.

It doesn't have the loaders hatch?

No, not the IR version, take a look at Taigens reviews on you tube.

Hi There.
If it is any help, I have gone down the same road , of upgrading h.l. products, including the kvi I nto kv2, which I am working on at the moment.
I find that most of the h.l. idle assemblies, of h.l. are too week to take metal idle wheels and metal tracks and lead to misalignment.
Go for taigan , much better build and
most of metal stuff is made by them.
My answer is now, to buy taigen with 2.4 installed at least, and go from there.
good luck,
Cheers Wads

Thanks for the info Jt... took your advice and looked up some videos on Youtube... none of them really show the hatch or the IR unit...but it's good to know from someone who actually had it in hand...something to think about...because if I do get another one... I would want the IR version...if for anything else the recoil....I do like the Machine gun set up...and how they did the rear decklid...it's almost Like Taigen copied my build lol...as they even installed the louvers :haha:

Dang... it looks like development wise Taigen took a few steps backwards....that hatch deal is terrible...and with everyone moving controls to the top or rear...they've put them all on the bottom like HL... 8O

Might just get the upgrade parts when they are available lol

Thanks Jt

Yes, if I would have seen that video pre purchase, maybe I wouldn't have. I don't think it would be hard to install a hatch. But looking at photos of the 1:1 T-34 that hatch opens forward so it would block the Apple from receiving hits from the front I believe.

Hard to say Jt.... HL has an IR version out in the UK and Australia....they have the apple mount in that same hatch...doesn't mean much as Taigen's hatch is metal...and as you say might block the IR signals...but I really doubt it.....What I also noticed was that it doesn't look like Taigen is going to improve their RX soon either....as the switch for the smoke is under the tank with the on off...With that said there's a lot to be liked....the metal deck lid vents ...the "louvers"...the Half moon commanders hatch etc
Did you have yours long enough to see how the engine lid opened? and if the louvers were able to move?...Both Phil and I had to make our own...mine I made so the open in unison ...Phil used magnets on his deck lid...and I used aircraft hinges
What I do like is that it gives others more options when looking for that once relatively rare model ;)

I ran it for a few minutes until it started to misbehave, looked inside to see if I could see an obvious problem and then with disgust, boxed it all back up. Didn't have the time to look around nor did I want to at that point.

Just wrapping this up, hopefully!

If I get a T34 without the smoke & sound on the 2.4GHz transmitter, then get a newer transmitter do I also then need a new receiver to make it all work?

Assuming I enjoy it, then suspect a KV2 will get bought in bits (rather than a Pro RTR) if I get the time to get over to the MAD events.
