IR Apple Testing

Post by jtracks »

My Taigen IR Panzer IV arrived on Saturday. Everything works as it should. I would like to test the IR Apple to see if it is receiving and currently don't have another tank. The Panzer was my first. I do get a muzzle flash and recoil when I push the left stick to the top. Is there anyway of testing the apple? Also, are the Taigen and Heng Long IR systems compatible? Thank you.

Joe,

Taigen and HL IR is not compatible. If you have a Sony remote it might trigger something on the apple. I know they usually asked for a specific Sony remote but you never know.

Thank you for the reply MichaelC. I don't have a Sony remote but I have most everything else. I'll give them all a try. Looks like I will be ordering my second tank sooner than later.

Hi You can test the emitter with a digital camera, turn the tank on and look at the emitter through the digital camera and fire the gun . It should show up as a blue light on the camera screen.
Testing the apple the only way is to use another tank fitted with the same system.

Yes, and when I dive into something Pete, I really dive in. I sold five of my many rc crawlers over the week end and the money was burning a hole in my pocket. My Taigen Panzer IV was purchased at a good price in my opinion considering the upgrades it came with. So now I went to the top end of their arsenal and purchased their metal T-34. I'm sure I will find a middle ground before it's all over.
