Have any of you fella's coverted the HL Tiger into an early version with the turret side bins? If so how did you accomodate the turret turning mechanism situated at the back of the turret in the current rear stowage bin?
Any info would be a great help in making me decide if it was worth the hassle.

Early Tiger 1 conversion help.
Re: Early Tiger 1 conversion help.
Hi abo
check out joes build from Hobby Havoc aus http://www.hobbyhavoc.com/forum/index.php?topic=243.0
and there was a conversion were the barrel mech was stripped and converted to fit the turret think it was on RCU by pzrwest or YHR
another option maybe the PZR3 barrel mech as it is smaller or the asiatam one with recoil
Hope this helps Regards Rob

Thanks for that Rob, what an absolutely brilliant build on hobbyhavoc, head and shoulders above anything I was thinking of.
Now if you forgive me, I'm going to sit in a corner and cry.

I thought Joensis went a bit over the top with his build, but then hey it is a Hobby and we can do as much or little too the tanks as we see fit,Abo wrote: Thanks for that Rob, what an absolutely brilliant build on hobbyhavoc, head and shoulders above anything I was thinking of.

some very good ideas have come out of his build as well, has he finnished the tank yet
makes my efforts seem to be rather poor in comparison.

Re: Early Tiger 1 conversion help.
Yeah, I must admit it was a REALLY involved build, which I would be ok with (love the Maybach engine!!), the painting too but I'm pretty poor with the electrics, my Mrs runs and sits under the stairs every time I change a light bulb!
Have to say I wouldn't want to take it outside after all that work which for some, I suppose, defeats the object doesn't it?

Re: Early Tiger 1 conversion help.
ah you may not realise is joe is a model engineer and builds scale jcbs and caterpillars for fun including the hydraulics so the tiger was a day off project a bit of fun

even though he copied my suspension setup lol (but he did make a better job of it lmao)
with the realese of the asiatam lower hull you can get tamiya quality suspension for a lot less yens

but it gives an idea of what can be achieved ive seen builds almost as technically good done with a dremel so there is hope for the rest of us

Re: Early Tiger 1 conversion help.
Well that figures, the man is very, very good at what he does, I'm just surprised he hasn't invented real little men to crew it.
Re: Early Tiger 1 conversion help.
