Winter project
Winter project
Like it or not, winter is coming.
So it's the best time for me to start a new built.
I choose the Heng Long Panzer IV F2 ( something with that apple shape muzzle break)...
Haven't decided yet of the camo pattern but one thing for sure, the electronic's gonna be a Clark/Benedini combo like I have in my Pershing.
Since I already had a TBS mini on hand, I created some sound files using video footages of Panzer IV auf.G # 413 :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhE0aAeV-os
I then coupled the TBS mini to my last "acoustic smoker " design and started some tests ( king of like killing two birds with one stone).
So here's step 1: SMOKE & SOUND

Re: Winter project
Wow man that sounds awesome! I have a smoke unit on its way that is supposed to act just like the one you have but I'd LOVE to get sound like that! Sorry for asking but I'm a total newb here where can I get sound like that? What all do I need to do? Hope you don't mind me asking on your build thread if you do could you please PM me with the info if you wouldn't mind? Please, pretty please!
Re: Winter project
The sound module is a Benedini TBS mini...
It's fully programmable with existing sound files (from their library); or you can create your own sound files using you tube videos and any good sound editing program.
I bought my first unit a couple years ago, from Dan at battle Armor; programmed with the sounds for my M-26 Pershing...
Early this spring I decided to personalize my Pershing by creating my own sound files and started to appreciate the potential of the TBS mini...
It becomes a hobby within the hobby and is very enjoyable...
There's so much more to be done with the unit, and since I myself am a novice; I would suggest to contact Dan for more infos...

in the mean time; here's what I got for my Pershing...

Re: Winter project
You made the smoke unit yourself? Looks good. Is the design private or would you mind sharing it? I really want to add a smoker to my Tamiya King Tiger as it has plenty of space but can't find a decent proportional that doesn't break within 5 minutes.
Re: Winter project
The smoke unit is an improved version (under testing) of the acoustic smoker I introduced on this forum a while ago.

It's currently under testing for durability and I will post some results later...

Here's an update on my Panzer IV F2 build...
Unlike Philipat who started his build from the top to bottom with a remarkable attention to details; I started mine from the bottom-up....
First. I wasn't really happy with the Asiatam metal suspension I had bought a couple years ago and decided to modify it to my liking...
I posted the results on an already existing thread on this forum:viewtopic.php?f=38&t=12864
Then I had trouble with the Asiatam track tension adjusters, but this time; it was all my fault...Since I didn't have the instructions, I shaved off the notches on the shafts that lock the adjusters to the hull...I ended up having to use lock washers and over tightening the nuts; resulting in breaking the adjusters...
I fixed the problem by making my own ...viewtopic.php?f=38&t=13877
After resolving those issues; I finally have my lower hull up and running...
Here's some pictures with commentaries:

Do you run the batteries together? Or just switch when one runs down?
