Good Morning, Mr. Herman,
I don't know why I try to sort these tanks into categories such as 'Cosmetic Redo' or 'Rebuild' They all seem to turn into a 'Rebuild' The Hobby is advancing so fast that any older tank you have that you want to put a bit of a polish on invariably turns into ordering major components either because you have discovered something is broken when you open it up or the new stuff available is so exciting and cool that you _have_to have it on your tank. This Pershing would have puttered along for many more years as it was until something drastic broke like the hardwired MFU. At least by doing this now, I was able to keep much of the original tank ( which has great sentimental value to me ) and ensure that it is up to modern standards of use and durability. I have located and fixed many of the older shortcomings that HL has corrected in their newer Pershings as well as beginning to build this one into a combination Tamiya\HL\Scratch M26 that I would be proud to set down in the middle of any Club gathering. Thank you, Sir, for coming to have a look at the ongoing work. ;o)

Thanks for dropping by for a look-see. ;o) Alpha provided a canvas collapsable bucket ( made out of paper towel, glue and paint ) since the inventory for the Pershing stowage bins listed one. *chuckles*

Hey Painless....Good going so far...glad you got the package

....a little 411 on the Stug...that's from Sass.... he initially gave it to me in that semi built condition ....thought I could use it for a reference ....we went back and forth on it for awhile... as I didn't really want it.....mostly because I don't do that scale anymore... and it's static

....Nowdays ..if it doesn't work... it doesn't count lol...inevitably ... he said...he's not going to do anything with it... so it's mine to do with what I want... sorry if this sounds like a chex cereal commercial you being Mikey ...but I said ...I'll send it to Painless...he still does multiple scales

I have to admit...once in my possession I was curious... opened the box....took one look and said...Hell there is no way I'm going to deal with those tiny parts

Glad you like it... it's really a nice kit...but I really think my eyes wouldn't be able to handle the construction of it

Thank you very much. I've always loved the Pershing and thought Heng Long did a pretty good job with it in terms of general appearance and upgrades from their Tiger 1. Today was one of those weekend catch up days so I contented myself tonight with disassembling the turret and collecting the Tamiya mantlet and trunnion bits to see how much of a stretch it would be to replace the HL parts. I'm not completely sure but after a little grinding o' the mental gears and dry fitment of parts, I think it can be done reasonably simply. Pictures:
