My Brothers,
I have survived a bought with the dreaded C word. It was a very hard time. I am getting my self back together. SO I have come to where you very talented tankers share what they have done.

I am doing my first post illness build of a H/L Tiger 1. I saw another Gent in here building 334 of the 101st SS. I will be building 331 of the same unit. It will take a while but it is helping me so very much.

For those who do not know me. I was a Sailor for 20 years and a Tanker (19K) for 4 years. I have built upwards of 20 RC tanks for myself and for commission. I also build sailing ships from scratch. I have a scratch built T-72 in my future.

Welcome back chief. It's been a tough battle no doubt - but you have all the brothers-in-arms you need on this site.

I guess I'm the guy who is building Tiger 334, although I'm not attempting a slavish re-creation. You could say that I'm imagining an alternative ending to that Tiger's service in Normandy. The original was abandoned on a road in Rauray on 27th June 1944, captured by the Brits, then shipped back to England to be shot to bits on the firing range at Lulworth, Dorset (near Bovington Tank Museum).

My 9 year old son is keeping my enthusiasm at full throttle, however, because he has been creating a diorama of 334's final moments in Normandy...

Thank you for the great Tiger Pics and facts and the warm welcome. I will begin a three to four part tutorial on how to make your own photo-etch parts for just about nothing and with no hassle and it is a real hoot to do. Today I made the mounting corners, binding and lock down so now I have my own precise Jack Block for my Tiger. Once you see how I did it, the photo etch possibilities are endless.
