IMEX transmission mix up.

Post by jackalope »

Ok so my luck being the best in the WHOLE world I'm the lucky guy who got to figure out that IMEX has ALL their transmissions mixed up! I ordered the 4.1 hardened black steel gears with the 58mm shaft for my KT and guess what I got? Try a set of white metal geared transmissions with 48mm shafts! So I called them up and was transferred to their "tech dept" and I was told that I ordered the wrong transmissions so I'd have to pay the shipping to send them back. Um....WHAT? :eh: I told the guy to look at his OWN web site and he'd see that according to THEM I ordered the right parts but the sent me the wrong stuff. We went back and forth a couple times before he says "I'm going to transfer you cause it seems I can't help you". Perfect, SUPERVISOR TIME!

She gets on the phone and ACTUALLY pulls up their site rather then just argue with me and TA DA turns out I was right their site is messed up! SCORE one for me! SO now their trying to find if they have ANY transmission that will fit my KT, preferably the hardened black metal 4.1 geared transmissions I actually ordered but at this point I'd take whatever they have so long as it gets my KT up and running again!

The transmissions I ordered that their site said was IN STOCK I was told are on order and they won't be seeing them for a month, maybe 2.

So just a word of warning, IMEX's site is SCREWED up you better call them to make sure you get the right parts and don't go off of what their site says.

Also as of now ALL of the transmissions have been removed from their site I guess till they open EVERY box and see whats what. I may be the one "taking one for the team" but I'm very glad that IMEX has pulled all the transmissions down till they get them figured out.

Jeezz Jack! what a pain in the butt! Did you check around to see if anyone else had them? I ended up putting Waltersons and 480's in my KT goes through pretty much anything now...

Thanks I did notice those from Mato I'm gonna call them tomorrow to have them verify what they are and if they're the correct ones I'm gonna order them.

The supervisor, Kara, from Imex has been FANTASTIC to deal with! Mistakes happen all the time its how they handle those mistakes that earns loyal customers! She told me she's having her tech dept guy go thru EVERY single box to see what they actually have and don't have. She went on to tell me that if they have a correct transmission set they will send them out ASAP and if they don't she'll have them take apart one of their display tanks and send me the transmissions out of it if I want them and they'll come with a discount for being "used" parts. She's been absolutely awesome to deal with!

Alpha they pulled all their transmissions down from all of their sites and adds because as Kara told me she doesn't want any unhappy customers that I was 1 too many so she pulled everything donw till she can have tech guy go thru them all to see whats what. IMHO THAT is what customer service is all about! Not only selling you something at a great price with good shipping rates but then taking 100% care of the customer AFTER the sale with any problems they may have!

HMMMMMMMMMMMM  ...Not sure it sounds like good customer service Jack...you did have to go through a bit to get answers and a solution that is still pending...pulling the item in totality is to me a "cover their butt" measure
I'll tell you a story about a transaction that to me is customer service.... I ordered two 2.4 gig RX s from MATO MART.... when they arrived they were the new model RX... I emailed them to where they got back to me right away (a good change on their side for one)...and gave me more info on them... So I ordered a TX and two more RXs ...thinking they would be the new models....upon arrival they weren't...so I emailed them again... to where they apologized for the problem... and made me an offer of getting two free new version RXs or a free TX....I opted for the New Gen TX since I had already installed the previous two RXs .... I was very pleased with the outcome... it was a win win situation as I can easily recommend them... and there was no addition out of pocket cost for me :D
All was handled within a week to top it off

That's Customer service :D

PS...Mato Mart's prices may not be the best... but they do have exceptional sales... and they do take care of their customers before themselves ...I would say the equivalent in the UK is forgebear... got to admit...Mato has some fine vendors representing them out there :D

Well Kara had the tech guy go thru all of their transmissions and the only thing they have for the KT is the 3.1 white gear sets so they're gonna send me those tomorrow along with the heavy duty sets of tensioner arms for my Tiger I. Alpha IDK man Kara actually called me back no less then 7 times while in her warehouse while they were looking for the parts for me and she was VERY nice on the phone. LOL, told me I knew more then her whole tech dept did and offered me a job however they're in Florida and I'm in Maryland and I make more then double what they'd be willing to pay me. It may have been a covering their butt move but its also covering the customers butt as well I'd think.

As for Mato mart I agree they're customer service is also VERY good as I've dealt with them several times as well however there is no phone number to contact them the only way to contact them is via email which is kinda slow. I would have LOVED to have been able to order the transmissions from Mato that they show in the pics but without being able to call to verify it I'm stuck waiting on their emails.

So I'm officially on the hunt for a set of 4.1 black steel geared transmissions for my KT so if anyone knows where to get a set PLEASE let me know, post up a link, PM me, whatever I just want a set!

Jack,
Did you contact MatoMart about the set I found? Those looked like the right shaft length but did not mention the size in MMs. I have watched and bought from Murphy Ma for years back from the days of the 1/24 Marui airsoft forum. He is a worthwhile guy who knows his business.

Yes I did Mr.Wolf and I'm just waiting for an email back as to if they are indeed the black steel geared 4.1 transmissions. Had they contacted me back before I heard back from Kara I would have just gotten a full refund from her but I figured at least this way I'd at least have my KT back up and running and I know to NEVER go thru a stream and then try to go thru the sandy bank. The factory white metal geared transmissions held up perfect until that point.

BTW thank you again for the link.

I would say if they did something to compensate you for the trouble they caused you it would be more Customer oriented...3:1 is pretty much a stock set... so she really isn't doing you any favors ...I like that she called you and you didn't have to chase after them...main thing is you are happy with the outcome
