Alpha,
Thanks, no. No Tank Nutz here. Humanize to me means imagining some crew member milking a cow to go with rations or filling the bucket from a stream to wash off in or pour water in a radiator while doing maint. You know, the fragile human element of the machine. ;o)
regards,
Painless

:haha: OK. Painless.... but in some ways I think it's more about the wobbling too and fro... as a jerry can could hold more ...but it doesn't move once mounted ;) ............ :haha:

ALPHA my good friend, Hallo, The reason not to use a Jerry can is they have different colours for different uses whereas the bucket is a multi use
container, in the service we would wash in it, boil water in it, find a stream and fill a dying Land Rovers radiator from it, after suffering a blow out off road put the wheel nuts in it so they don't get lost, carry bottles of cold beer in it, wash your socks and other items of clothing in it, and when the bottom fell out SWEAR at it. :haha: shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

This should go on the SHOW YOUR BUCKET thread ...but what the hey lol...........The reason and uses of a BUCKET is many... what Boggle and I are trying to see...is when was it a requirement to have them dangling somewhere on an RC tank :haha: :haha: ...I mean you have to admit... the ones sold really aren't that pretty ..so to say... they are too thick to be scale (which surprises me when I see them on detail oriented tanks)

With that said though...like when the bottoms drop out... I'm sure there's swearing when retrieving a tank that's been in some rough play and finding that dang bucket fell off somewhere :haha:

Smoking is bad for you health

Under that bubble wrap at the back of the tank is a almost :) standard smoker unit from a heng long.
The wires for it go to the peco switch (green board) so both lights and smoke unit can be turned on and off via a flick of a switch on the tx.
The main reason (i think)everyone complains about the hl unit is the noise it makes (and yes they do break but most moan about how loud they are) and the reason it makes all that row is they are hard bolted to a hull that ends up vibrating like a gramophone trumpet and so,,,,
I greased the gears and moving parts, that helps shut them up and then i just wrap the thing in bubble wrap that insulates it from the hull and any vibration.
What does it sound like now you may ask?
Well with the speaker on it's lowest setting and the smoker running it sounds like a real low volume tank engine and that is with the hull open.
Closed up and with the tam speaker turned just of it's minimal setting i now have a Tiger Engine that sounds like a Tiger Engine at idle,in short and i did not know this was going to happen,,the smoker, mounted like this actually makes the tank sound better and so i am well happy with the way this turned out.
Ohh i forgot to mention i had to bend the exhaust pipes more because they were pointing up in the air.
Next i add the divider and sort out those mud flaps :D
