My Sturm Tiger painting
This is how my Sturm Tiger is looking after paint job.
I am not all to pleased about the shininess og the stripes in Brown. But the are the result of the masking tape, I put on it in the hope that the desert sand colur it came with would make a great effect.
However it did not! (-:
But after all, I think it fits the theme intended: last stand in the Ardennes/The Battle of Konigswald?
I will make some more accesories for it concerning cut Down tress, fortification etc.
Also, the secondary theme will be the Battle in Moscow/Berlin. So I will have to make some anti infantry accesorries for that as well.
Please let me know what you Guys think (-:
I will keep you posted along the way!

You can get rid of that shinyness in a few different ways, its nothing to serious. Its also good if you want to pin wash, look at the positives

Alpha:
Here is my plans at the moment:
For the Ardennes/ Battle of Reichswald scenario:
- cut Down trees mounted on the sides
- Brushes/trees for extra camo.
- Chains
- Diorama pieces, such as a tank trap, perhaps a fortified positon to place the Panzer
For the Battle for Berlin scenario:
- diorama pieces containing demolished Buildings, debries etc.
- Barbed wire on the engine deck for added protection against infantry attacks/ambushes.
- Perhaps Armour plating/protection og the engine vents (I have seen several nice example in here)
In general - possible accesories.
- metal tracks - I have not decided if I am goin to Mount them - guess I will have to play with the Panzer a bit before.
- explosive effect/mines - small fire crackers to be set off electrically

Bfrank,
Good Morning! You're heading in a good direction with your paint. As Billpe noted, a pin wash to bring out and define the numerous armor effects like bolts, welds and rivets, etc. should be soon in your paint schemes. Looking forward to the cool things that you have planned.

Painless

bfrank,
Here is a basic Youtube video explaining how-to on pin washes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3Z62PQALiw Note: Instead of the specific pre bottled washes that are demonstrated, a lot of folks use a dilution of black oil paint and thinners. I use enamel paint thinned with a brush cleaner for the washes I do on tanks. Good luck and have fun!
