Hi Michael,

It is designed to use a 3s LiPo. The Balance lead from the LiPo hooks up to the RX to provide it with power. I suppose you would be able to make up an adaptor like the one that comes with the 9X, but I am not sure that it would fit in the battery compartment. If I am honest now that I have gotten used to the LiPo I prefer it.

The Labels on the display are tank based,not much you can do with the ones on the Tx itself. I find it makes it much easier to programme the TX because I don't need to remember which function goes with which label anymore.
I have that module from Kevin which works with the Turnigy Rxs. It works perfectly. Just bought a second one for the new Tx when it finally arrives.

The 9XR is just an upgraded 9X, not much difference in the performance at all that I can see (I have a 9X too). The big advantage is that the AVR programmer interface is already fitted by the factory and has an external port so you can flash it straight from the box.

Kevin is a great chap to do business with, I have always been very happy with everything I have bought from him.

Hi spongehoobtank82

I will try to give you a helping hand with this if I can. It is not always easy doing this sort of thing via the forum, but we can give it a go.

First question, how much do you know about programming the mixer in TankER9X?

Second question, which version of TankER9X are you using?

Next, are you using eePe to connect your 9XR to your computer?

Lastly were are you based? if it is near by it may be easier to meet up to sort things out.

SUN: Er9x-r1
VERS: Anzio

That the version screen info

I have not connected it to a computer and so far the only functions I have worked out to assign are the throttle function to a pot and the turret rotation too a pot, am assuming to assign swithces I need to delve into the mixer screen or custom switches screen?
I live in the midlands, Stafford, Staffordshire

Hi

Thats a shame I am south coast, much easier to deal with these things in person.

You are right, you will need to go into the mixer screen.

It would be helpful to know what mode your 9XR is set to in the radio setup screen.

Also a pic of your mixer screen as it is at the moment would help.

Did you mean to have the throttle and turret rotation on the pots?

Its set to mode 3, I will try put a picture of my mixer screen on tomorrow, your right it would be easier in person, take me about 5 hours to get down south, shame really as I don't know any other tankers/clubs/ battlefields in the midlands!
Cheers for you help Paul

Hi

Shame we aren't geographically closer to one another, its much easier in person than trying to describe things here, and I could have just loaded my settings onto your radio from the computer for you, but we will have a go :thumbup:

A pic if you can manage it would be very helpful, just to see where you are starting from :thumbup:

Mode 3 is good news, as I use this mode on my radios with the IBU2 as well. It will save having to transcribe my settings into a different mode for you. :D :D

Do you have an idea of how you would like the controls to work. With the set up I use things work as follows:

left stick controls turret rotation and gun elevation

right stick is throttle and steering

the following functions each have their own switch. Canon, Mg, Engine on/off, lights on/off, smoke on/off and momentum on/off.

Hope that all makes some sense, I will be out for the day but will take a look again when I get home this evening. :thumbup:

I have my sticks setup the same as you, just that diagonals on the left stick controls, smoke/lights/momentum/engine start.
I have this lables for the switches on my home screen, just need to link them to the function.
am assuming I need to insert a mix, just not sure on what channel on the mixer screen and what settings etc
cheers

Ok, Thas looking good.

I will assume that you have gone through the IBU set up of the stick movements using switch 8 on the IBU (page 11 in the IBU2 manual).

If not carry out this procedure before going any further. This just lets the IBU2 know how far the sticks travel.

If you wish to keep the functions (including Canon and MG) on the left stick and have them on the switches, then leave Ch3 at 100 GUN. If you only want these functions (including the Canon & MG) then set CH3 at 50 Gun.

Change Ch4 to 100 TUR

Now to add the switch mixes.

Scroll down to CH3 and press menu. select insert. set source to half. set weight to 100. scroll down to switch and set this to CAN.

Exit.

Scroll down to CH3 and press menu. select insert. set source to half. set weight to -100. scroll down to switch and set this to MGN.

Exit.

Scroll down to CH3 and press menu. select insert. set source to half. set weight to 100. scroll down to switch and set this to XGN.

Exit.

Scroll down to CH3 and press menu. select insert. set source to half. set weight to -100. scroll down to switch and set this to ENG.

Exit

Scroll down to CH3 and press menu. select insert. set source to half. set weight to 100. scroll down to switch and set this to SND.

Exit

Scroll down to CH3 and press menu. select insert. set source to half. set weight to -100. scroll down to switch and set this to AUX

Exit.

Scroll down to CH4 and press menu. select insert. set source to half. set weight to 100. scroll down to switch and set this to XGN.

Exit

Scroll down to CH4 and press menu. select insert. set source to half. set weight to 100. scroll down to switch and set this to ENG

Exit

Scroll down to CH4 and press menu. select insert. set source to half. set weight to -100. scroll down to switch and set this to AUX

Exit

Scroll down to CH4 and press menu. select insert. set source to half. set weight to -100. scroll down to switch and set this to SND

Few!!!! we are there :D :thumbup:

This should map the switches as follows

CAN = main gun
MGN = MG
ENG = Engine start/stop
XGN = Lights on/off
SND = Smoke on/off
AUX = Momentum on/off

Good luck, hope it goes well, and let me know how you get on.

Paul
