Hi guys,
Continuing this post on painting german camo paterns here is an attempt at pea dot. Unfortunately I had a mishap with the camera and after taking about 50 photos I realized I did'nt have a memory card in so photos will start from a late point. Will try again soon if any body is interested.
I am using mainly Vallego colours.

Base colour as per pictures at start of post I mixed ger. camo pale brown 825 and camo med brown 826. 3:1 mix. some shading and highlights also using these colours.

Pea dot is not just made up of small dots. There are also larger random patches of dark green, pinky beige and medium green.

The first patches applied were the dark green, Vallego extra dark green 70896 and black. This is almost black. 2:1 mix.

Next, the beige patches. I came up with a mix of sunny skin tone 70845,salmon pink 70835 and khaki grey 70880, 3:4:1 mix.

Next, medium green patches, reflective green 70890. Not so many patches of this colour.

Next start adding the dots. The dots will be made up of of the base colour, dark green, pinky beige mixes above and additionally a light green mix. The light green mix is sunny skin tone 70845 and camouflage bright green 70833, (no medium green dots). Here I can start the photos again thanks to having a memory card re-installed.

At this stge I have added the dots of base colour and dark green.

Next stage add dots of pinky beige mix and the pale green.

Add some shade in the recesses around collar, and seams. Just a well thinned dark brown mix.

Thats it for the camo.

Some pictures of progress towards finish below.

Almost done. Need to add headset and some additional shading and highlighting and he will be finished.

If all that paint mixing sounds like too much hassle, try these colours, again vallego.

Base, 70 873 field drab
Dark green camo, extra dark green 70896
Light beige camo, german camo beige 70821
Mid green camo, as above reflective green 70890
pale green dots, yellow green 70881

Hi John,It is fine to add links to sites that have a direct connection to your post subject, especially when it is a post where you give your time and effort to the benefit of all members. No problem. This is really helping me out I will be painting figures tomorrow some of which I have had for a year. Just did not feel confident about the correct way to detail figures.

I have two large scale PT Boats with crewmen I completed years ago but the kit instructions gave a detailed step by step method for these crewmen. This post is just a real asset, now anyone should feel confident to undertake the task. cheers Blake

The crew figures are from Verlinden. I get them on ebay from seller (3dverlinden), Based in US but gave a great postal price for Europe so give him a try. Has full range of figures at great prices. The tankriders are also from ebay seller,(resin-kit) basedin China. They are branded as Tiger models. Offers free postage worldwide on many items. Realy good models, has a nice range. Check out the 1/16 Kubelwagen in resin at reasonable price. I think it is a copy of the verlinden. This seller also has a website with some other great figures including a very good figure to represent Michael Wittmann. I will post the site name later. It does'nt seem to be working at present so I may contact seller. Saw one of these figures on one of our well known tank sites for more than twice the price.

All painted figures are 1/16. Just one 1/6 figure makes an appearance as a model for painting peadot.
