Yes sir. It's the engine covers. Here are a couple of pics.
Was thinking if I built a styrene "frame" under the cover first that may help?

Can you please tell me how you made the Feifel hoses? Or if store bought from whom.

I used what turned out to be fibreglass electrical conduit that I got from an electrical wholesale shop. The stuff is used to cover thermo capilliary tubes for ovens, and wires in raised heat or abrasion areas. I just went in cold & told them what I was after-they gave me the stuff and told me what it was for.
Mine was a perfect 6mm I.D. and seems to match the pattern or the non-compressible air intakes on the real machines.
My 'stuff' however was a bitch to paint-nothing would stick.

On the topic of Feifel hoses; this is a real one;

Aber are currently working on a 1/16 scale Afrika Tiger conversion set, which they announced some weeks ago. It happens to contain photo-etch Feifel tubes that look very promising; I have a test sample but I haven't tried folding it yet.
If people are interested in getting just the Feifel tubes as a separate item, perhaps you could write to Aber and let them know there's a demand for that.

Hi David,

I think ABER have already released the early feifel tubes as a separate item. :thumbup:

I've tried contacting aber a couple of times to try and get the mud guards (front and back ) and the armoured exhaust covers separately for my Tunisian tiger. Sadly no response.

Well, all I can say is that they didn't exist at the time. He just sent me the prototypes now.

I can't believe it............ with all the above the top modellers here on the board...no one has figured out how to make those .... just looking at the diagram should give you the hint already...why spend 45 dollars when you can probably make it for 30 cents :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:
