Thank you old friend, I have used Humbrol rattle cans simply because their range of colours is so broad and apart from the varnish pretty good. I like the results I get with my airbrush but the constant cleaning of it in comparison with rattle cans does put me off, take care. shaun

try not to put it on to thickly. one thin coat at a time, remembering that you are not supposed to see it on the surface you are painting. Also I believe ambient temperature can effect the results too. I am sure that temperature was mentioned in the last similar thread.

Most of the time this "fogging" is because the clear is dry by the time it hits the vehicle. Try thinning the clear more and lower the pressure on the air brush ( I run around 9 lbs. when doing clear and I cut it to water consistency.). And as Scalawag says thin, thin, coats. and let dry well between coats. You can also test if it is a reaction between the undercoat paint and the clear you are trying to apply. Just dab some on with a brush in an inconspicuous place and see if ti too fogs. Hope this helps a little...

On the recommendation of the fellas on one of the static build forums I tried this only tiger:

Thinned 5 parts varnish to one thinner/water worked great! I airbrushed on, farirly low pressure and thin coats.

I had the exact same problem almost exactly the same time last year. Spanking weathered Sherman, all decalled up and almost done. Hum brik rattle can, shook for ages sprayed it in and it fogged in front of my eyes.
Almost a perfect Badtogne whitewash scheme!
Turns out it's too humid in this kind of weather, although warm the air is laden with moisture. Spray later in the evening when it's cooler and do a test shot each time on some scrap before you attack the main model.
