The excess will shake off, the pics are of the piled up volume to allow build up !
I have looked at other materials, like baby talcom powder (got plenty of that) and dry plaster of Paris grated off a block, but this gear seems ideally made to simulate the required effect.

Yip, just doesn't seem right to bung it on a shelf & not make it a feature somehow.
I did want to try to replicate the picture, but I will go for something a little more imposing if possible.
Will "suck it and see" at the end.

You going to try a modular? or a permanent base?

I really like Mr Giants modular system, but the space thing will be an issue. Plus doing several modules would absorb much time that is of a high comodity now.
Just the one again this time.

Its been a bit of see how it goes, but the snow effect has come good I think. Been able to test things out on less than critical areas that can be altered if things didnt quite work as expected.
Still many things to do before he's done, but happy with the way its heading.
The powdered snow is bloody expensive at $27 AUD for the canister, but Im recycling any excess back into the container and it does seem to be going a fair way.
There should be enough to do maybe 3 tanks but not if I do the display base.

Herman,
The snow effect is pretty amazing! I'm looking forward to seeing this tank complete on a diorama with snow and a shack to be parked beside.
regards,
Painless
