Jackalope,
Taigen doesn't offer a Sherman or Sherman variant ( that I am aware of ) so It's Tamiya, Heng Long or Mato and of those three, only Mato is offering a Sherman in metal. So not exactly a better than issue just one of availability.

Painless

Ah, cool. Thanks for clearing that up for me Painless. And I agree their metal stuff is VERY pretty.

Hopefully the heralding of these new Metal Mato Shermans.. is an indicator that the company is taking new strides in the construction of their tanks ... The Early German models almost being exact casts of the Heng Long model line....The Shermans represent a new era for them... as no one has made those models before....the quality looks good... and I'm sure they will all be in High demand

AFAIK its only the Tiger was a copy of HL.

The pz 3 and stuff are really nice!
Re: STOP! The Presses...MATO makes Tank News again!
Hi ya Billpe... Gotta admit...the Tiger is more exact than the Panzers..... but the Stug and PIII share all the same attributes of the Heng Long with the exception of separate tools...torsion suspension and one heck of an awesome tensioner ...which could have been copied from Taigen ...except Taigens don't have the escape hatch in the undercarragebillpe wrote:AFAIK its only the Tiger was a copy of HL.

What I find interesting is...there in the UK...seems like the gearboxes are an option...here is seems like the gearboxes are provided by the factory

I would agree... though I think the Panzer III would be my choice....Nothing wrong with the Stug... it's just not all that modifiable .... and that really isn't the model I need for my Genretomhugill wrote:The pz 3 and stuff are really nice!

But the price is good for an all metal tank...I just hope Mato will go the same route with the Sherman line

The Tiger they did looks pretty shoddy as the turret is in the wrong place and the tools are like the HL copies. But they state with the PzIII and Stugg they did their own research and they look good. I'm looking forward to getting a PzIII from them. The idea of being able to solder PE directly onto the tank is quite attractive and those gearboxes look very high quality.

It looks like they might have refined some of the molds... reason all the hatches work...but I think if they designed it themselves...parts wouldn't transfer so easily...but yeah...if I did get another Panzer...it would be the Matobillpe wrote:The Tiger they did looks pretty shoddy as the turret is in the wrong place and the tools are like the HL copies.
