New acquired Taigen Tiger 1, Full Metal BB tank

Post by Mav87th »

So my son finally got it.

Ordered thursday delivered one week after. That seems ok. Got the tank through Nitrotek.dk, and had i read the reviews here of that company i would not have done that. Immediately after having read the reviews i did a research on the danish website of the company. The phone number in DK are not working, and two emails i sent to them were not replied to. Then i wrote an email to the english branch, and got a reply in 12 hours. I had at that point not received a track&trace number, but got that in their email then. So far so good, the tracking showed it shipped from UK storage the day after my order had been given.

Thursday the package arrived here, delivered by the local postman.

However the parcel had been damaged in transport, so i took pictures of the parcel immediately. I also took photos during all the unpacking documenting damages as they appeared. There were not that many. Scratches to the hull at the base of the turret, to the barrel end, and a few on top of the hull. Radioman hatch were broken off and lay loose in the parcel. The worst damage though was the right stick on the remote controler had taken a blow. It is misaligned and it is not working correctly as it is. It will have to be replaced.

Accessories included were two extra tow cables in cobber wire. A plastic commander, Smoke launchers for the turret and for the hull, decals and of course bb bullets and a battery/charger. battery is 2000mah with Tamiya connection.

The tank is with potmetal gear, metal belts, metal drive and idler wheel, metal roadwheels, asiatam lower hull, plastic upper hull and a full metal turret. The turret seems to have a correct dimensioned/angled rommelbox.

Next i will post some pictures when i get them downsized.

I wrote an email to Nitrotek, that apparently have to go to Nitrotek.se as the swedish branch has taken over handling of the danish branch. They have replied, that they will send a new transmitter imediatley. I have written back that they forgot the hatch that was broken, and that i expect that to be included. We can live with the scratches, as my son wants another camouflage pattern on the tiger in 6 months or so.

The tank performs realy good, and has only thrown off a belt 2 times in tall grass.

Does anyone have a good picture of how much the belts should be tightened?

Hmmmmmmmmmm that's interesting ... if the box was damaged in shipping you would think you could at least put in a claim for a partial of what the package is insured for :eh:
Anyway...though those Nitrotech guys are in the vendors black list section... you got them to take some responsibility

for your track tension... set it on a block.. I usually look for about a half inch ...from the bottom of the bogie to the top of the tooth...a tad more is good a tad less...not bad either...just make sure the gearboxes don't grind under load ;)
