Hi Gents. I was wondering if anyone had and tips on creating casting numbers
Like you see on top of tiger tank gun mantlets etc.
I have read people cut the numbers off sprue from model kits , however how do
They get it to blend into the mantlet? Sand down, putty?
Sorry this may be an obvious question of just experimenting but if anyone's done it, do you have any advice ? Cheers Mark

Re: Creating casting numbers
You might want to consider using Plastruct letter/number sets. They're made of styrene, so they're easy to glue on, and come in sizes as small as 1/16" (which is the link I'm posting). http://www.ebay.com/itm/PLA96001-1-16-P ... 51aae63847

Re: Creating casting numbers
Try searching on model railway sites, they use them for signs. I have a link somewhere. Here it is: https://slatersplastikard.com/plastikard/alphabets.php
I used them for my Sherman and T34, just super glue them on. Cut one of the spur stab with a sharp blade dip in super glue and place on model, you will have a few seconds to aline it to the others and take your time.

I get them from squirestools. See kink above to their catalogue. Page 335
Smallest sizes ok for 1/16. Biggest I've used on a 1/6 scale was 6mm
