James, I`m running on a 4600AH (ni-mh) battery, with suitable cooling fans etc. This gives me a least a solid 1hr+ run-time (t.b.h i`ve never run it to flat cos the H.I flash starts to get hit-n-miss as the voltage runs down!!)

Thanks for your help mate, just what I wanted to know.

Cheers James

How about the reaction based on the weight, does it seem more like a tank? My heavy Tiger moves much more stable, the control arms acting against the terrain more so than the tank bouncing over things, does your tank react like this? It would seem at that weight it would and be a steady more stable gun platform.

Thanks for sharing, this is a new product to many and a very interesting option for many as well. I certainly would prefer it to a Tamiya considering the cost, the extra money saved could upgrade the electronics to a superior system surely.

Good run time as well. Seems like a tank that will be difficult to outmatch on any battlefield,

Its weight is going to be the same as yours Sax. Less any extra you may have added just for realism,or battery size. As all the replacement parts you had to put on yours came as standed on these made by Taigen. Its a damn shame they still don't make them.

Compared to a friends `all-plastic` heng-long tiger1, the driving attitude and poise of mine is noticably more stable and much less toy-like (his is a real 'jiggle-bucket' by comparison) I can see why some folk have gone to unbelievable, and stunning, lengths to make them in to true models & I.M.O works of art!!....loving it!

FYI...adding the alloy barrel & recoil unit added weight but de-stabilised the turret (on it`s crappy moulded plastic bearing-rings) This was dealt with by adding an equal amount of lead ballast into the inside of the turret storage bin. Cutting away the original bearing ring, reducing & levelling the turret & deck 'lips' to 1mm and fitting 1.5mm PTFE/TEFLON bearing/thrust rings to turret base & deck...lovely, nice and solid now.

Is it true what caddyshack posted, that Taigens are not made anymore?? -.....SAD, VERY SAD!?

Hi Taigentanker

Could you take a couple of images of the mod you did to the tower. I just bought that exact tank and would like to be prepared :D

Hello Mav... Sometimes it's advisable to check the date of the original post....there is a good chance the poster doesn't visit anymore.. and on the extreme may have sold the tank ;)

Just a tip

Nice looking tiger Tiagentanker. I have an older one that I get on Ebay as a wreck and that's what I use it for. It is an early mid production version (rubber tired road wheels). You can see it on the static model forum under convoy.
