Hi all,
I think I have posted this question before...... Is there a easy replacement of a faster motor into the HL rotational unit ? The HL Leo has a rather large turret cog ring and the rotation speed is super slow. I know that there is some rule around the colour of the ends of these motors (130s ? Is that what they are called ?) but don't seem to have much link.
A link to a website would be great !
Thanks !
MichaelC.

Re: Replacing HL Rotational unit motor
Hi Michael
Try these.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-3v-3-volt ... 46001013b4
should get it down to about 10 second per turn.

As I use the IBU2Pro in my Leopard with the same large turret ring and 360 rotation is down to 5.5 seconds

Re: Replacing HL Rotational unit motor
Hi You can use the black cap motors fitted to the BB gun ,this makes the turret turn twice as fast as the normal motor , I use them and so far havnt had a problem.

Thanks guys......... 971wright, I will dig and see if I can find a BB motor. Tankbear, do you think these are the same as the one you posted:

Hi Michael,
Yes those motors look the same type I used.

Re: Replacing HL Rotational unit motor
Timed it before with the blue end motors it was 25s for 160 degree or 50s for a whole turn (320 degree).971wright wrote:Hi You can use the black cap motors fitted to the BB gun ,this makes the turret turn twice as fast as the normal motor , I use them and so far havnt had a problem.

I swap the motor out and put in the black ended one as per 971 and also put in the blue-end resistor as well (just in case..... They have a different number on it) and I got 8s for 160 degrees or 16s for a whole turn (320 degrees).
First of all thanks 971wright......... At least it is reasonable now still no where near the real thing. Question now becomes does the resistor matters ? WIll it go even faster if I remove the resistor ? Would that burn out the motor or juice out the MFU ?
I am going to install the white end ones when I get them. Tankbear, did you use the same ones for your elevation as well ? Also, what resistor, if any, do you use on them ?
Thanks guys.

Yes also tried in the elevation unit

I didn't bother with resistor (it lowers the voltage and speed). I found as your pushing 7.2v through a 3v motor it will eventually fail, but took a year and as so cheap not a big problem.

Re: Replacing HL Rotational unit motor
Took out the resistor and got another 2s off on a full turn (320).
