Paul,
Thank you, Sir. Figures will be a source of ongoing education for me. There are some real masters out there and the techniques can get really involved. I was pleased with the eyes and the piping on the cap and tunic this time. Those are things I usually have issues with. We'll see how the new resin and metal figure turns out. This fellow is made of the new rubbery plastic that HL is using and was in a shipment of spares from Alpha and Sassgrunt. The material made the paint stickier to the touch as it cured but I didn't see any longer dry times with it.
warm regards,
Painless

Ahhh, eyes and piping always fun to do.

For piping I usually apply the piping colour first and then paint the clothing colour up to it. I find I can get a finer line doing that than if I tried to paint the piping on after the clothing colour.

Eyes are always tricky, the most common mistake being to use a pure white but you have cracked that.

The H/L figure mouldings are usually very poor detail wise, but as I said before an excellent job.

Paul, ;o)
Thank you very much for the tip on the piping! I will certainly employ that with this next fellow in line. I am finding that resin figures definitely offer much more detail than the white metal or plastic ones.
regards again,

Alpha,
Thank you. ;o) It looks like you are having some fun with German armor today as well. The Pith helmet came with the other figure. I'm not sure if it will see a use or be shipped back. Still waiting to hear more from RcTanks.de today.

Resin?............. resin figures are easy to reconfigure...but if he really doesn't have personality.. and not the figure you wanted ...definitely send him back ;)
Think a guy with a German Pith would be cool though...really out of the ordinary... if the face has a good expression..it could be like he's showing off a trade souvenir :D

Resin and white metal. The head and torso are resin, the arms and helmet are metal. I have a cap and goggles already painted up for this build so it is a possibility if I keep this fellow because it turns out he is the new version of their tank commander for 1942. The driver wouldn't be helmeted but the Commander could have it laying by him up on the roof of that giant turret. ;o)
