One and a half cans of the Model Masters Dunkelgelb and the base coat is applied. Any tiny touch ups missed by tired eyes viewing in electric light can be corrected by a brush tomorrow. Pictures:

Thank you, that is indeed a lot of dunkelgelb. Only the road wheels, sprockets and idlers got the black shadow on primer treatment this time. They will remain solid dunkelgelb with a wash and weathering. The deck, turret, front and rear will get the hardline tri-tone camo patterning.

Looking pretty Sharp Painless... Model Master did a good job on the color...usually it's off ...how you going to do the camo... clay ...stencils ...silly putty ? All good when not using an airbrush

I like silly putty ...but I don't know if they even sell that stuff anymore

Thank you, Sir. ;o) I have found a KV-1 build here on the Forum that has inspired me. I will use it as a basis for colors and patterning and likely do it freehand with a set of new brushes I picked up for the job.

Just a tip for using brush technique .... dilute and have a large piece of paper near by to check whatever is on the brush ... also a blow dryer....that way you can get good coats on relatively fast ....I do think you have a good foundation already...the gelb is probably the weakest color ...be careful though... touching up the gelb might be a problem..just because it is a weak color

Thank you for the handy tips. This will be the first time I have camo-ed something this large with brushes. It will be a Tri-tone camo so I have two colors to put on with the DG as the predominate base. That will be followed with a pin wash to bring out details. Accessories and tools have been done in complimentary Wehrmacht colors.
