Personally I wouldn't mess with the kit ... just leave it and take it to paypal..Messing with the kit will compound the case in favor of the vendor... just leave it...send it back once paypal instructs you to do so... then go from there... there is no sense in trying to make something right when it sounds pretty clear the Kit is a piece of trash

Good Evening,
On the kit, I stand corrected apparently. It looked good on the website, etc, etc,.
regards and good luck,

HI all, thanks for the advice etc. just for info the shaft is 8.2mm but the bearing bore is 7.5! it won't fit! I have tried speaking to Tankzone, the stock answer.
"I have spoken to my boss and I am afraid we don’t accept return of these kits once they have been opened.
From experience they rarely come back complete and in a resellable condition."
You couldn't give this one away!!!
So I have contacted trading standards and started a PayPal dispute. The guys from Imex have been really good, as some of the parts are theirs, or maybe copies of theirs! but they are supporing me too.
Painless didn't mean to sound like I was correcting you! the tank on their site does look really good, that's cause that isn't the one they send out! Any way, lessons learnt, I will be asking all of you your advice before I buy another one! I will keep you posted.

Ferdy,
No apologies required. It's just another case of Tankzone misrepresenting what they display as to what they actually ship. It sucks because a Porsche Tiger 1 is a highly desirable RC tank. I am sorry that you got burned by those folks. Paypal and IMEX should get your funds back for you. Good and reputable dealers and excellent products await you. Please let us know how things are going with this and with you.
regards,
Painless

Just out of curiosity I looked at the TankZone site... it really sucks... click on the Porsche tiger and you go to a picture of the Tiger...it's terrible... I don't know why anyone would do business with a company like that ....it's like viewing the way they are said to operate... kind of a Bait and Switch deal

Wish you luck Ferdy...take these clowns to the cleaners and get your money back

Hi Guys, eventually got Tankzone to agree to a full refund, although this is taking an age! Apparently Worldpay have put a hold on the payment refund as it was a PayPal dispute.... from the information that Ihave seen from Tankzone they are being honest, but pretty frustrated at not getting my money back yet, I still have the worthless tank though and this won't leave me until my money is firmly in the bank!

Any who, ihave been looking at the 1/6 Sherman from Fuyan RC / Bigtanks.de and have wondered what to get, do I get the petrol version or the electric version and a Benedini sound and smoke generator? I am a modeller at heart so will need to do a lot of work to the hull when / if i get this. Any thoughts?

IMO get the electric...those gas powered tanks are really loud ...messy too ...when I first got into rc tankery... I views a lot of videos on Youtube...saw one video where the guy was testing his gas powered model... not only was it loud... I didn't think it ran as smooth as an electric

So the benefits are better with electric...you can have sound ... a more controlled smoke output... smoother running... and your neighbors won't want to kill you everytime you start it up :haha:

Happy Tanking FerdyImage

PS.. Glad to hear things are going your way with your kit
