Hi Lain:
The distance I measured between the front and rear axles is 11 inches. My measurement for the axle width (front and rear) is approximately 8 inches.
I don't have large enough precision measures to get a completely accurate read. However, I have a copy of the road test of the Tamiya Hummer from the September 1996 issue of Radio Control Car Action. In it they list the wheelbase at 11.2 inches, and the width (front and rear) as 8.1 inches.
Hope this helps, and good luck with the build.
