Saturday spent looking up materials and rod stock then eight hours on Sunday disassembling, modding and reassembling. The suspension mods worked tho' The last four arms and torsion bars have been beefed up with Alpha's double torsion bar system along with a trailing arm clip and spacer I dreamed up. The tank sits level now, even a bit nose down if you look at it a while. ;o) That's good because everything has to go back on it now including that monster turret. Pics:

I have mixed emotions about the great job you (and Alpha) did of correcting the rear suspension height on your KV. I am very impressed with how well it came out, BUT - now I have no excuse for not fixing my own saggy-butt KV hulls. -Mike

Thank you! For my part, I had clamped the two bars together after adding the additional ones with a couple of plates and a screw but even that didn't add enough oomph! to the rear set ups. The brass spacer to keep the bars aligned on the side that I added the arms made out out of steel picture hangers to, finally did the trick.

Alpha,
I should have made those trailing arms out of strip steel but I hadn't bought any. When the clamp pieces I had bought didn't work well enough, I had to get inventive. Fortunately I had a few of those steel wall hangers out in the house tool box. As it was, I had to shorten one of them up to make room for the Taigen sliding lock system. At least it still worked. *chuckles* I will revisit this fix with some nicer ones some day down the road on one of those inevitable upgrade sessions.

As with any Fabrication...you never know...so plans must be altered sometimes....glad it all worked out in the end...as there were several unknown factors when I sent you the design I drew up...like how much space was under the arms... and most of all how strong / weak that torsion bar is ..basically leaving the final strokes to the Masterpiece yours ...it's a fine job... and if it works..that's what counts

Alpha,
The torsion bars are OK with any standard metal hulled Taigen like the Tiger 1 ( I would say ) but this Soviet beast with a +- 13 pound lower hull alone had really overwhelmed the ones under the gear boxes. Now, It is sitting pretty. ;o) Began anew on the detailing tonight. Pictures will tell the tale better than I:
