christin ludwigs SD.KFZ 250 my new project

Hi every one
just taken delivery of one of christin ludwigs sdkfz 250 .just got the basic kit to start with, now got to start working out what parts go were ,


ive got the book on the sdkfz 250 but any help and advice more than welcome
i intend to make this full radio control proberly going to model the sdkfz 250/9 with the turret .

Well started on it today spent more time looking on the heng long panzer forum at the origanl build and translating German to English .havent glued anything yet just dry run

Congratulations on getting the kit. I have been wanting to see how a regular Joe Modeler fares with this kind of uber detailed cut out kit. Christin makes it look easy so please take lots of pictures and let us know how it goes together, what glues are best to use, paints, etc.

Started putting chassis together had to email christian to double check which way round a couple of bits go .
the parts go together beautiful just a wipe with the file to square the corners of the slot and tabes
And square up and glue.




Time to start on the body now .

Hi every one
Well a busy day down the shed today.
Started to assemble the body took me a while to work out the best way of doing it .
There is two triangles of plastic in the kit which fit at the back they are the correct angle for the body so I transferred these angle to a angle bevel the cut some bits of wood on the chop saw angle is about 25degees I then stuck the wood in place with blue tac which then supported the panel at the right angle.

I had to do a bit of filling on the slots so the edges fitted nice nothing major though

It Tried the radiator cover on the front and it matched up so I must of done something right

morning
well i made a slight mistake when putting the body together the bottom parts of the body needed to be about 2mm further out each side .
i could not get the body and chassis to marry up nicely it just would not fit right .
then i found out what was wrong .
so to keep the body in the right position i stuck some COOPER CLAD strip which you use for making track in model railways to the chassis to form a ledge for the body to sit against this keeps the body in the correct position i then managed to refit the panels in the correct place.


will try and post a update later if i manage to get any more dune today

Well I got the back end stuck together the body and chassis are a nice fit maybe just a little wipe witha file here and there .
I'm off on holiday now for 3 1/2 weeks so no updates on this project till I'm back . Can't take this one camping but am taking a rail wagon to do in 4 mm

Nice Job Tony, I should have guessed the Model Railway interest from the Eileens Emporium bottle. I use that stuff too and am into Model Railways, although it is N Gauge for me.
