Got 2 bottles of gun bluing and hit the tracks and they turned instantly to coal black! However I've never seem coal black tracks on a real tank so I went out to the old garage and got the jar of Brownells old world rust bluing solution and the sodium nitrate. (Note the reason I had the Brownells and the sodium nitrate just laying around is they were left over from when I restored a 1914 German Luger) So after the tracks were blackened I washed them off with some brake clean to make sure the chemical process had been stopped. I then took some left over bluing solution and mixed in the Browells rust bluing and a pinch of sodium nitrate which makes the chemical process turn darker shades. After a wash of this mixture I washed the tracks off with plain cold water from the garden hose and then I hit them 1 last time this time with the same mixture I used on the 2nd wash and then took them out and let them sit in the afternoon sun for about 30 min and then washed them again this time with dish detergent and water to make sure the chemical reaction had stopped and hit them with a heat gun turned on high to dry them off.

*sigh* The wife took the camera to the beach for the next few days so as soon as she gets home I'll post up some pics. Sorry guys.
