My Factory Fresh JT

Post by MichaelC »

Hi all,

Want to share some pics of my latest....... A Factory Fresh Late JagdTiger. I used to own a Matarro JT but always want to do one that is properly sized (Matarro JT is based on the King Tiger chassis which is shorter and the superstructure angle is wrong). I have been considering the Juckenburg JT knowing that it is the right scale and size, but have not pull the trigger until recently when I upgraded my Matarro KT to the new Taigen KT chassis which is amazing. The last piece of the puzzle was the JT metal barrel and mantlet that I got from tomhugil. I believe it is the old TankZone JT kit that is no longer available, but thanks to tomhugil I was able to not to have to drill thru the resin barrel in order to put in a flash and also the metal kit is recoil friendly. Juckenburg's kit didn't come with any tools, and I have replaced all the hatches and tools with metal kits that are available from WDM. Biggest challenge was to extend the lower hull to match the scaled resin upper hull. Enjoy !
The metal barrel and mantlet is prefect scale to the resin upper hull

The space between the last road wheel and the idler is the extended hull. It is about 26cm or about 12 inches in real life

Extending the lower hull means I have to reposition the back plate as well to match the upper hull angle.

Best thing about the Taigen lower hull is that there is a place for everything. By default you have to be neat and tidy !

Extending the lower hull means that I have to relocate the tensioner as well. The locking mechanism was kept at the same position.

Superstructure was absolutely massive. Simple servo recoil (HS-311), High Intensity Flash unit and Hammerhead for IR battle.

A before picture showing the size comparison with my Asiatam Elephant. As you can see even without the fender guard it is still bigger.

Those are awesome both of them. When he is finished I will nominate for master class assuming he comes out like the Elefant!

Hi MichaelC,

I'm in the process of re-building a Tamiya-hulled (elongated) jagdtiger made with several WeCoHe parts especially on the fighting compartment roof. The hatch covers are plastic and the periscope protectors are missing. You mentioned that metal hatch covers were available from "WDM." Maybe my cyber skills are failing me (they undoubtedly are), but I cannot locate or identify "WDM." Can you please identify "WDM" so I might contact them.

SCHWEREPANZER, WDM is just initials for Welsh Dragon Models, a well known vendor in the UK. Here is the link to the metal hatches:
