taigen tanks

hello i am new to this and rc tanks. am getting a new taigen imax metal tiger 1. what can any one tell me of this good and bad. would like to hear and know how to get parts. thanks.

Gidday mate, I cant comment on the Taigen having never owned one, but from what I hear & read, they are pretty good. As for parts, check out the reccomended vendors section, we are all about the pictures worth a thousand miss spelled, poorly punctuated words!!!! so lot of happy snaps of your projects as they unfold would be great.

Cool! Know nothing about em except they're very close to heng long and they share a lot of parts. Never heard of a taigen part not fitting an HL tank. If by "full metal" you mean metal hull too, I'd upgrade the motors and battery first thing, that's a lot of weight and an underpowered drive train comes with it.

i heard you and others. i have upgraded to steel gears and the battery, they are in the mail. i will be using teflon grease and have been told to use it only once a year. got tank a few days ago and just love it. taigen will be coming out with a metal king tiger in july and have already placed an order for one.

JOE, Hallo, Can I ask why you are going to use Teflon grease? This question was asked on the Forum recently and EDWIN who builds 1/16 scale Tank gearboxes recommended Motor Cycle Chain Lube, It does not spray and yet is thin enough to get where it is needed and best of all it is both cheap and easily available, I hope that helps/ shaun

teflon grease is used to lubricate balls and torsion bars on trailers. there is huge weight and strain on these as they are being pulled hundreds of miles by very powerful diesel trucks. i use it on my RV and only apply a very thin film of it on these parts with my finger, thinner than plastic wrap. it lasts a very long time, does not drip and resists water. thank you for the tip on the oil. joesink
