I like the rust effect on Andy's pictures, especially the photo of the side hatches, it actually looks as though its eaten into "metal". I gather it doesn't eat the plastic, it just forms some sort of crust on the surface? Good stuff whatever it does, gotta be worth a punt, look good on my Tiger exhausts and those big boxes on the Bulldog.

i bought some awhile ago, you paint on "stage 1", leave it then paint on "stage 2" then wait, it is real rust, thats why it looks so good, i think though, that you could make it cheaper, "iron fillings suspended in a acrylic carrier paint for stage one, and something like peroxide 6% from a chemist as the activator for stage two, i'll be trying this soon so will let you know how it goes

I will caution you guys a bit. These tanks were heavy metal with a very short life span. I am not so sure you would ever find rust to this degree on an active panzer between 39-45. After sitting out on display for 50 years maybe, but not in their operational life.

you are right YHR, AFV's would never have got like that on active service, then or now, but like a lot of the weathering techniques used on models today it probably isnt accurate, even though it more often than not looks fantastic. but then thats just my opinion

had many a debate on "Rust" and IMHO less is better got to remember these were brand new with a couple of clicks on the odometer
