Check this out guys, selling off over 100 vehicles, and I'm just a bit short. If everyone donates 10 dollars we might get a bid in on the Sherman!

http://auctionsamerica.com/events/all-l ... eCode=LC14 This link will display all the vehicles, the Auction is no reserve.

pkw IV 2,500.000.00$ ESTIMATED VALUE! Several Centurions and even an Leopard . mULTIPLE Shermans, several other tanks.

Yet the deal is you buy you transport, and that is a serious amount of cost in this fine economy of diesel fuel cost. So even if they gave me the Centurion I would have to sell everything and then the dog to get it home.

This is a once in a lifetime event, and shall not be seen again, yet I thought the Littlefield collection contained a Panther G? That must have already left the building as they say.

Well take a look guys, excellent specifications listed and some unique military vehicles.

Cheers Blake

I think that they're selling some and the rest are being put in museums, which is why the panther isn't on sale.

That's the Littlefield collection. I wanted to go take a tour but never made it up there, now looks like I never will. He had a great collection and was featured tank overhaul for his Panther. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mFla-SuBPPc

Wow!

The price for the Panzer IV seems obscene - $3.6 million?! - but when you look at the auction sales of classic motor cars I suppose it starts to make a kind of sense (well, not really).

On the one hand it may mean that more people are going to seek out the surviving but as yet unfound tanks - like the Stugs that were brought up from the depths of the Baltic. Here's an interesting clip:

On the other hand I worry that even once they are found, these tanks are going to provoke a sort of gold rush mentality - or achieve a sort of Mona Lisa status - that prevents them being seen by the wider public.

Only time will tell...
