Thank you for the tip on the Nortek light. I try to buy complete tanks from here in the US or MATOMART in Canada to save on shipping. Artistic Hobbies is the place I use most often for Taigen. I have bought turrets and larger pieces from Dave at Forgebear but even he warned me away from trying to buy complete tanks there or overseas in Germany. The shipping is a killer. I bought a map case from RCTANKS.DE for Maxene's commander as a test and the shipping was twice the price of the case so I can imagine what an entire tank would cost to ship. Having said that, I buy Schumo parts sets from Axel's Modelbau and the shipping is not that ferocious. I buy from Welsh Dragon as well and now this turret from Panzer Command. Generally, shipping from the UK is cheaper than from Germany or Asia or Australia.

Good Evening,
Lert, Welsh Dragon has them sometimes: http://www.welshdragonmodels.co.uk/torr ... 1740-p.asp and you can get them from RCTANK.de: http://www.rctank.de/KV-2-Turret-GUN-AC ... t-and-more as well as the airsoft version and a version mounted to the Taigen upper hull with metal stowage boxes with the charge point inside one of them.
regards,
Painless

Hey Painless... just found some new emoticons Imagethought I'd try them out here... they're Soviet oriented... and even though your Kv2 will be a captured version thought they would be well suited for a Kv buildImage

Alpha,
*chuckles* I melted down my Paypal today, went ahead and ordered the Taigen KV-1 in metal from Artistic that we have been discussing for some time. Gene is a really nice guy there in Texas. I ordered most of the rest of the accessories last night from diverse sites like the AAF Museum, JR-RC, rctank.de and Ebay. I am waiting to hear back from Dave at our very own Forgebear to see if he has the last two, tiny pieces of detail I am looking for. Like you said, then the 'awaiting delivery' game begins.
warm regards,
Painless

P.S., I got the Nortek light from rctank.de. The Mato light had the stepped mount on it and I needed the flat, fender mount one. Good link tho and good sale at MatoMart

Cool Painless... didn't know the other variant was available ...though I've always seen the stepped type on the front fender more than the flat...is it lit?...I might get one later for my Panzer IV...Just have other priorities at the moment ;)

It does sound like your KV build will be another well detailed project... I think you will have many onlookers :D

Alpha, aye, it is the flat fender type that you see on Famos and other armored trucks and half tracks. It is lit and will provide a nice counterpoint to the headlight\searchlight on the other side of the hull. *chuckles* Post came today from the AAF Museum so I have two MG kits and the lens for said headlight now. Got some post in from Hawaii today from Sassgrunt. He sent over some requested plastic track from a KV-1. It will look much better attached to the upper hull than the flat, molded piece that comes with the KV-2 turret kit. Thank you sir! Pic:
