Alpha,
Thank you and thank all who have Served. You are not forgotten.

" Memorial Day. People think it's for the American dead only but I like to think it's for everyone who went off to War and never came home. Doesn't matter for what reason they fought or for who. At the end of the day there was a chair that never felt their touch again, a book always unfinished, a puppy who waited for that special step on the path leading home, lamps unlit and fires never struck into life again. So remember today those that you have lost and spare a second for the other ones. Somewhere a heart you might never know grieves their loss as well.? "

warm regards,
Painless

Memorial Day, Honor the civilian Military of our Constitutional Republic, Honor those of every Nation who fought to preserve their way of life and to ensure the Liberty of those for whom they served.

Once told to me by Eldon Wiesenhunt, Guadalcanal veteran, Merrill marauder and former editor of the Press Semitar news paper now interned in the National cemetery. I was fortunate to know this man who at 17 stepped foot on a Pacific Island to suffer and fight for his country.

Eldon spoke about the ordeal to me as he was retired and facing his end, it was an honor. Today I remember also my three Great uncles Doug and Cecil Hadley and Dent McCarrol all serving in WWII and each influencing my passion for History and service to this Republic.

Remembering those who provided us all with the Freedoms and Liberties remains a tradition, one which I hope others value as well.

Warm Regards,

As this day of reflection passes into tomorrow... for those who remembered.. and for those to be remembered..this is one idiom that has great meaning
Image
for the reality of war... is that there is no true glory....victories ... battles won ...battles lost ....there is still the ultimate cost
Image
Though it seems unrealistic... perhaps an ideal...unless there is a true and just cause

WAR should not be entered into at all
