Recoil units

Post by Jnewboy »

Lets talk about recoil units. Is it a one size fits all? Is there more than one type? How hard are they to install? Whats the best place to get them? Just looking for some info for future projects.

Well just to quickly categorize them (Please add to the list if anyone knows of any others).....

- Stock HL/Taigen Recoil
- Tamiya Recoil
- Asiatam Recoil

Which are most of the off the shelf ones. Then you have the Do it yourself ones which I have seen:

- Servo recoil with your own frame
- Servo recoil with modify HL recoil unit frame
- Servo recoil with modify HL BB unit frame
- Servo recoil with modify Asiatam recoil unit frame
- Tamiya recoil with modify Asiatam reocil unit frame

Stock ones are easy to install on the specific brand of tanks. Then the ones with the specific frames (i.e. HL frames on HL tanks) are next and then the DIYs with your own frame/other brand of frames are probably the most challenging.
